Writer's Block

I have hit a snag on this campaign. I can see no further way forward at present. My imagination requires justification and at present that can't be had. It seems I've steered Prussia into a corner.   Any suggestions?

  1. Maybe the thing to do is to first start with "our story so far." You can review what has happened leading up to the very present and might help with what might be coming up in the future. Next, ss there an impendeing confrontation that your are building up to? Something you can throw a lot of your forces into? Finally, you might loosen up a little on the whole justification thing. Maybe get involved in a conflict between two nations that are overseas that is well beyond military advisors. I think you your justification might make you too cautious. Throw caution into the wind! That's just my 2¢.

  3. I agree with Chris, and maybe even take it a step further: how about go back in time to fight out the actual 'revolution,' Prussia's separation from Poland. I know you had news stories about the fighting posted, but it didn't seem like you actually gamed it.

Another thing I see: it seems to me the big halt was brought on by the real-world stuff going on with Russian/Crimea/Ukraine. Maybe it's time for Prussia to seek a new patron? It seems to me that the Prussians could be quite concerned they could end up being treated like Ukraine, so maybe they begin looking elsewhere for support?

Then go with something (relatively) obscure, like France, Belgium, or Spain, and Prussian military forces head off on expedition to a low intensity conflict in one of France/Belgium/Spain's former colonial possessions. This opens up stuff in the Caribbean, Central/South America, Africa, the Western Pacific, the Middle East.

    Could be fun ;)

  4. I have no idea why I posted twice. I look forward to seeing what you do.

  5. BTW, I wouldn't mind learning more about your solo rules.

    1. My solo mechanics thus far have been that each enemy AI unit that activates to attack the closest PDF unit to them. Advancing to make range or for nearest cover. Basically how I think an enemy unit would behave on the battlefield.

The squad rules will be changed slightly and I'll update them in the near future. The force rules I am thinking of switching out completely over to Cold War Commander.
